Fuel Assembly Failure Detection System
A failure detection system for post-irradiation fuel assemblies, using offline ex-core sipping inspection. The system flushes the fuel assembly surface through a circulating water loop and measures radioactive gamma content in the circulating water to identify assembly failure.
Product Overview
▅ Core Technical Advantages
Fast and accurate fuel assembly failure detection: A high-sensitivity gamma content measurement system captures trace radioactive gamma signals in circulating water. Optimized water flushing helps identify failure signals quickly and supports timely fuel assembly safety assessment.
Safe offline sipping inspection: The ex-core offline inspection mode is isolated from the operating core. A closed sipping loop reduces radioactive leakage risk and direct personnel contact, supporting safe and controlled inspection.
Water-isolated detection design: The fuel assembly remains underwater throughout the process at an equipment working depth of 10-15 m. The flushing and detection loop is arranged onshore and connected through underwater sealed interfaces, using the water layer as radiation shielding.
Modular rapid assembly: Process loop, radiation detection, gamma testing and electrical control modules use standardized interfaces, enabling fast assembly and commissioning for different site layouts and inspection scales.
Full-parameter real-time monitoring: Temperature, pressure and flow sensors monitor loop conditions in real time. Detection data and loop parameters are analyzed together to avoid accuracy loss caused by process fluctuations.
Intelligent data management: The control system automatically collects gamma content data, loop parameters and equipment status, supports data storage, traceability and abnormal-condition alarms, and generates inspection reports aligned with nuclear safety management needs.
